There’s a certain kind of wedding that a marquee lends itself to beautifully.
Expansive, immersive and entirely your own, it offers the freedom to create something on a much larger scale - where flowers aren’t just part of the setting, but a defining feature of the day.
We recently had the pleasure of dressing a marquee open day at Fernside House, working alongside The Cheshire Tent Company, and it was the perfect setting to showcase what’s possible when flowers are given the space to truly shine.

Designing your Marquee Wedding
The marquees, beautifully installed by Matthew and Natalie at The Cheshire Tent Company, created a soft, elegant structure that felt both refined and full of possibility.
Set within the grounds of Fernside House & Barn, the space offered something many couples are looking for - a countryside setting, paired with complete creative freedom.
For some, that means working within a venue like this. For others, it’s about bringing a marquee into a private garden and building something entirely bespoke.
Either way, the opportunity is the same: to create a wedding that feels generous, full of atmosphere and unmistakably yours.

Flowers as a defining feature of the space
With a marquee, flowers don’t need to play a supporting role - they can lead.
For this open day, we designed with abundance in mind. Layers of soft peach, warm neutrals and fresh greens ran throughout the space, creating a look that felt full, textural and quietly luxurious.
At the entrance, large-scale arrangements set the tone immediately, welcoming guests with a sense of occasion from the very first step.
Inside, the top table became a true focal point. A continuous run of florals, paired with the beautifully detailed cake by Pink Cocoa, created a moment that felt rich, elegant and designed to be noticed.
Above, foliage installations softened the structure and added depth, drawing the eye upwards and making full use of the marquee’s height. Chandeliers nestled within the greenery added another layer of detail, giving the space a gentle sense of theatre.
Guest tables followed suit, with florals that felt generous and considered, each one contributing to the overall atmosphere without ever feeling repetitive.

Bringing everything together
When you’re working at this scale, cohesion becomes everything.
Working alongside Florence & Vera, who styled the space, every detail - from linens to table settings - was carefully considered to complement each other and the experience we wanted to create.
The entire space felt layered, balanced and thoughtfully brought together. All beautifully captured by Elle Howard Photography.

Marquee weddings at home
For couples considering a marquee in a private garden, this kind of approach translates beautifully.
A marquee gives you the opportunity to build something entirely bespoke - from the structure itself through to the final details. And when flowers are treated as a key design element, they can completely transform how the space feels.
From entranceways and walkways to dining spaces and statement installations, flowers can guide your guests through the day, creating moments of impact from beginning to end.

A Flower Lounge Tip
With a marquee wedding, think about flowers as part of the overall design - not just decoration.
Large-scale installations, generous table designs and layered styling all work together to create a space that feels immersive and complete. When everything is considered as a whole, the result is something that feels effortless, even at scale.
