We had so much floral fun at Hannah and Scott’s big day! There’s nothing better than a gorgeous garden wedding full of bright beautiful blooms and warm hazy sunshine!
As official floristry partners of Didsbury House Hotels, we first met our lovely couple Hannah and Scott at one of the hotel’s open days. Didsbury House Hotel is a stunning Victorian Townhouse that is absolutely bursting with style and charm. Hannah and Scott immediately fell in love with the venue, its elegant interiors and unique design. This lovely couple knew from the beginning that they wanted flowers to be a big part of their wedding aesthetic. With minimal décor required thanks to the stunning venue, they wanted their wedding florals to really bring to life their garden-inspired summer bright theme. We couldn’t wait to get started!
We must admit, an August summer wedding is a total dream to work on. Hannah had picked a gorgeous palette of warm colours that encapsulated her bright summer theme perfectly. Beautiful shades of orange, hints of yellow, crisp whites and varying shades of green became the backdrop for this extra-special day. Our focus was to make most of summer’s seasonal blooms incorporating these warm hues. Using an abundance of locally grown flowers, we intentionally chose a variety of stem lengths, textures and colours to create Hannah’s garden-inspired bouquet. We also managed to get hold of some of the season’s last locally grown poppies (Hannah’s favourite flower) to add an extra special touch and an additional pop of colour which she loved.
Knowing Didsbury House so well, we are accustomed to finding the perfect areas to bring some extra floral flair for our couples. The entrance to the townhouse is amazing and often provides a brilliant backdrop for photos. We created a beautiful bespoke doorway design that not only created a stunning cascade of colour to welcome guests but also contrasted beautifully with the exquisite Victorian architecture.
From a bright floral welcome sign, staircase foliage that perfectly adorned the bannisters to the ceremony table, we added lots of exquisite touches to areas that we knew would have the most visual impact. Using a combination of wildflowers such as zinnia and rudbeckia with their disk-shaped heads, larger fuller blooms like dahlias, dainty heleniums and delicate cosmos we were able to add lots of texture, depth and visual interest to every arrangement.
As the couple headed to Eleven Didsbury Park for their reception, the alfresco top table was another fantastic floral opportunity to make the most of the gorgeous garden vibes. We framed the table with a stunning pergola with deep green leafy foliage and were even able to repurpose flowers from the ceremony room at Didsbury House within the pergola design for maximum impact (an advantage of knowing the venues so well!). The tables were then adorned with pretty glass vases using dainty florals and lots of foliage in the couples chosen warm and vibrant hues.
Our absolute floral highlight of the day was seeing Hannah and Scott after the ceremony. They both looked so happy! We love it when flowers have the power to create such a stunning impact!
