Every now and then, it's important to step away from the brief, put creativity in the driving seat and simply play.
That's exactly what this recent wedding editorial at Five Four Studios allowed us to do.

Working alongside an incredibly talented team of wedding suppliers, we came together to explore new ideas, experiment with materials and create something a little different. The result was a collection of images that showcase luxury wedding flowers in a fresh and unexpected way.

For this shoot, we took inspiration from one of the season's most exciting colour trends: Plum Noir. Not quite purple, not quite burgundy and not quite deep brown, this rich, earthy shade brings depth, drama and sophistication to wedding flowers. While it's a palette that would feel perfectly at home at a winter wedding, we loved seeing how beautifully it contrasted against the bright white walls and linen of Five Four Studios, proving that bold colour can work just as effortlessly in a summer setting.

The shoot also gave us the freedom to experiment with flowers in ways we don't often have the opportunity to. Orchid blooms became statement earrings. Ceremony styling incorporated sand, grasses and textured natural materials. Flowers appeared in unexpected places and forms, helping us push beyond traditional wedding florist boundaries and explore new creative possibilities.

One of our favourite parts of the day was the collaborative process itself. Ideas evolved naturally as we worked together, with each supplier bringing their own expertise, perspective and creativity to the table. We were excited to see Millie from The White Closet bring in a newly arrived Vivienne Westwood gown (swoon!) and Kate from Florence and Vera introduced silverware, a trend that is blowing up right now. It was a genuine team effort, and we're incredibly grateful to have worked alongside such talented wedding professionals.

A huge thank you to Elle from Elle Howard Photography, Millie from The White Closet, Natalie from Jellypress, Kate from Florence and Vera, Craig from Whitfield & Ward, Justine from Love Stories Live, Alice from Alice Marie Rouillon Hair & Makeup, Blaine from Options Greathire and of course, our wonderful models, Moira and Tighe (@_nomad_couple), a real life couple who helped us to bring this vision to life. Speaking of couples, it really hit us on the day about how many of those we worked with were previous brides of The Flower Lounge! Kate, Alice, Natalie, Millie and Ellie all had our wedding flowers! It’s so lovely to see how friendships have formed since their wedding days with us.
As a Manchester wedding florist, opportunities like this shoot allow us to explore new techniques, challenge ourselves creatively and discover ideas that often go on to inspire future weddings. We hope you enjoy the images as much as we enjoyed creating them.
